Why we chose it

This bet exists because Bond 26 casting officially kicked off in May 2026 with Nina Gold (Game of Thrones) as casting director, and a second round of auditions is set for August 2026 — meaning speculation season is peak-hot but zero names are locked. Villeneuve is directing a full reboot with Steven Knight scripting, so M, Q, Moneypenny and the Bond girl are ALL up for grabs.

Why these specific names: Margaret Qualley leads because after "The Substance," fans latched on, and her joining the Bond homage at the 2025 Oscars with Doja Cat, Lisa and Raye poured gas on it. Zendaya's odds reflect the obvious Villeneuve-Dune working relationship. Sydney Sweeney/Anya Taylor-Joy/Pugh are the default "it-girl" tier. Realistic case FOR: Villeneuve loves his repertory (hence Zendaya/Pugh from Dune). Realistic case AGAINST any of them: Villeneuve is famously chasing a "fresh face" unknown Brit for Bond himself, and that ethos likely extends to the female lead — plus casting won't seriously firm up until the script locks, so a 2026 resolution is a stretch.

What we thought

Sal
Villeneuve wants a fresh face, so none of these sixteen names qualify — the winner probably isn't on the board yet. Shaken market, not stirred.
Eddie
Sal, the casting room's private, so what people are really pricing is stylist gossip and interview vibes. That's the whole strange machine.
