The board on 20 May 2026, the day the script was written. A price is the market’s odds of that outcome.
One dollar. The total volume on this market is a single dollar — the loneliest market on the board, on a question millions of people would genuinely like answered. The line says 22 cents, which is rich for a band that broke up on purpose: Daft Punk didn't fade out, they filmed an epilogue — walked into the desert and exploded, helmets and all. That's not a hiatus, that's a thesis statement.
The reason nobody will fund "this year" is sitting one market over: the crowd has decided that if the robots return it happens at Coachella 2027, twenty years after the pyramid show that made them, and every real signal — Bangalter easing back onto stages since his hearing improved, the catalogue charting with a new generation — points past 31 December. So 22 cents on a buck of volume isn't the public talking. It's one person with a hunch, priced against a band that made ending it into art.

Daily price. The dotted line is the day the episode was written — the odds Sal and Eddie were looking at. The solid line is the day it aired.
